Queen's University Belfast to Host NYC Symposium
Queen’s University, Belfast is holding an academic colloquium, ‘Post-conflict Stage & Screen’ in the American Irish Historical Society on Fifth Avenue in New York, on Tuesday, April 30.
As Owen McCafferty’s dramatisation of the last days of negotiations leading to the 1998 Good Friday Agreement runs at the Irish Arts Centre in New York, this one-day colloquium, organised by the Drama Department of Queen’s University Belfast, critically engages with the role played throughout the peace process by artists who have used theatre, film, and testimony to address the complex legacies of conflict that continue to haunt Northern Ireland today - more than a quarter-century after the Good Friday Agreement was signed.
Panelists include members of the arts world and academia. Registration is free and all are invited. To learn more about the event, and to register for attendance, visit https://form-usa.keela.co/good-friday-agreement-symposium.
