Catskills Irish Arts Week Celebrates 30 Years

Immerse yourself in Irish music, song and dance at the 30th Annual Catskills Irish Arts Week which begins on July 14 and concludes on the 20toh, taking place in New York’s beautiful Catskills/

As North America's largest summer school devoted to traditional Irish music and dance with over forty top-class teaching artists, Catskills Irish Arts Week is a learning opportunity like no other.

Choose from courses in 16 different disciplines at varying levels. Whether you're a polished musician or just starting out, there's something for everyone.

​Classes are scheduled Monday to Friday July 15-19 in the morning from 10-11:30 am and 1:30-3 pm at assigned venues in the area two weeks before based on registration. Classes are available for full time (twice a day but separate) or Part-Time ( either Morning or Afternoon ) and it covers your admission to the evening concerts and ceilithe by the Teaching Performing Faculty which are open to the general public also payable at the gate. There will be late afternoon topical lectures from 4-5:15 pm where the ceilithe will be all week in the famed Shamrock House with Fear A Tí Padraig McEneany from 9 pm -12 am. There will be a Barn dance on Wednesday from 7:30- 10 pm on the festival grounds for all the dance students and general public who can pay at the Gate. The Concerts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are from 7:30-9:30 pm on the Quill Festivals Grounds in the McGrath Pavilion free for the registered students but open to the public. From 10 pm to midnight participating resorts and roadhouse will host open sessions galore including the intimate Listening Room all week which have no admission changes and open to everyone. .

A Finale Festival will be held Saturday July 20th on the festival grounds from noon to 6pm and tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 but $25 at the Gate on Saturday. Saturday Festival Tickets are not part of student registration packets but can be ordered as part of registration process online or through the Quill Office during the week.
